I always get a twinge of guilt when I see my box of old CDs.
That’s a lot of music that I just don’t listen to anymore. That box represents a lot money I spent over the years. There’s a lot of memories tied to those CDs as well. I can look at one CD and immediately remember what was going on in my life when I was “into that music”.
It makes me miss some old friends. It makes me miss that sense of adventure, or independence, or hope in the future.
I guess life is like a box of old CDs. Like CDs we collect a lot of great memories – that we eventually lock away rarely to be thought of again.
I know there’s some great songs in there. I think I’ll revisit that box and pull out some of my old favorites. Maybe there’s a song I need to start singing again…. “Ice, Ice Baby…”
